Cold, Snow and Wind for California, Nevada

Rain and snow showers will move into parts of the Southwest following some gusty winds.

Rain is in the forecast from Southern California up to parts of the Northwest with cooler temperatures.

In connection with a storm in eastern Colorado, a second low pressure over Nevada will allow for snow across the Sierra. The majority of the snow will fall on Monday night as temperatures dive.

Drastically cooler temperatures are on the way for cities like Las Vegas. Monday will have a high in the lower 70s, but temperature will barely make 60 degrees for Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Fresno area to just south of Reno could have some thunder on Monday. Fresno reached a high of 80 degrees on Sunday afternoon, but a chill will spread into the area on Monday, with a forecast high in the low 60s.

There were already heavy winds ahead of the storm on Sunday night into Monday morning. Inyo County, Calif., reported a wind gust to 98 mph.

Through the day on Monday, winds will be gusting up to 70 mph at the higher elevations of Arizona and Utah. It will still be rather breezy throughout the day in California and Nevada.

By Tuesday, central California will be dry as the rain and snow showers linger in Nevada throughout the day.

However from Los Angeles to San Diego, there will be a bit of rain for Tuesday morning.
