With some of Hollywood's stars coming to the city this week, Dallas will near record-breaking temperatures this week for its first Mega-Fest.
The week will start out mostly sunny and warm Monday and Tuesday with temperatures in the high 90s.
Wednesday will be the turning point of the week as temperatures are forecasted to hit 100 degrees followed by temperatures reaching up to 104 degrees on Thursday.
The weather will remain sunny and hot from Thursday through the weekend as thousands of people flock to the city to participate in the three-day festival hosted by Bishop T.D. Jakes.
Night-time lows will remain in the mid-70s for the entire week, cooling down the city a bit for the evening hours.
While temperatures in the 100s are not uncommon for the city in August, this week's temperatures will be two to four degrees higher than last August.
Despite this week's forecast for sunny skies and heat, the fall forecast brings mid-season severe storms to the area.
