Indonesian Volcano Eruption Kills Six

Mount Rokatenda in eastern Indonesia erupted on Saturday morning killing six people.

Two children and three adults were killed in the eruption. The children's bodies may be hard to find due to the fact that they are likely buried under hot volcanic material, but the other three bodies have been recovered, according to the Associated Press.

Thousands of people were evacuated from the Palue island.

Indonesia is susceptible to volcanic eruptions as well as earthquakes because the country is near a line of fault lines, known as the "Ring of Fire."

The weather at the time of the eruption was rain-free with partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies, according to AccuWeather.com Expert Senior Meteorologist, Jim Andrews.

"No problem with rain mixing with ash, strictly dry conditions," he said.

The volcano has been active since last October.
