Radar: Stormy Saturday for the Mid-Atlantic

Showers and thunderstorms will continue to rumble across the mid-Atlantic today, threatening to ruin outdoor plans as the strongest thunderstorms will unleash downpours and damaging winds.

Showers and thunderstorms will actually target most of the East Coast today, but it is from New York City to the Outer Banks of North Carolina where the risk for the thunderstorms to be drenching and/or gusty will be highest.

The strongest thunderstorms will erupt during the afternoon and evening hours and impact several other major cities such as Philadelphia, Pa., Wilmington and Dover, Del., Richmond and Norfolk, Va., and Washington, D.C.

AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Brian Thompson has more information on the threat for these heavy thunderstorms.
