Locally severe thunderstorms will target the central and northern part of the Florida Peninsula into Monday evening.
The storms have the potential to bring damaging wind gusts, urban flooding, frequent lightning strikes and even hail in some communities.
The storms can affect the metropolitan areas of Tampa, Orlando, Melbourne, Jacksonville and others.
People outdoors should keep an eye out for rapidly changing weather conditions.
Aside from consequences of severe weather, the storms will bring needed rainfall to parts of the region. Some locations could pick up a couple of inches into Monday night. Additional rainfall from showers and thunderstorms are likely through the week.
