High pressure centered over southern England on Saturday will bring a pleasant start to weekend for most of the United Kingdom. However, a storm system will bring showery weather to many areas before the weekend comes to a close.

The United Kingdom will have a chilly start to the day on Saturday as most places will have temperatures in the 30s F (-1 to 4 C) for sunrise.

Sunshine and dry weather are expected across southern England while sunshine mixes with some clouds during the day in Wales and northern England. Across Scotland and northern Ireland, sunshine will yield to afternoon clouds, and there could even be a spotty shower as a cold front approaches.

Afternoon high temperatures will climb to seasonal levels across all of the United Kingdom, reaching the 50s for most areas (10-14C).

A cold front will then push across much of the United Kingdom Saturday night into Sunday causing spells of rain across Scotland and scattered showers over northern Ireland, northern England and Wales.

Dry weather will prevail across southeast England, including London for another day; however, there will be more clouds than Saturday. High temperatures on Sunday will range from the middle 40s to lower 50s (7-11 C) from Wales and northern England into Scotland and northern Ireland while temperatures will be in the middle 50 in southeast England (12-14C).

A return to milder weather is expected across the United Kingdom Monday through Wednesday.
