Americans honor fallen service members on Memorial Day
Americans gather to honor those who served their country. People visited war memorials, laid flowers on the graves of loved ones lost, and held parades to pay tribute to the fallen.

May 27, 2013: Aidan Lyle, 8, runs among 7,000 American flags on display outside the Long Center in Austin, Texas, on Memorial Day. The flags are in honor of the fallen veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The display was organized by Operation Honor Our Heroes, an organization that was founded by Nancy Glass after her friend MSG Robert M. Horrigan was killed in Iraq in 2005.
