The police officer who threw a Colorado college student face-first to the sidewalk is back on the job after an internal investigation cleared him of wrongdoing.

Fort Collins police say Officer Randy Klamser returned to full duty Thursday, nearly two months after the video of the arrest spread on social media.

Twenty-two-year-old Michaella Surat's lawyer says she suffered several bruises and a concussion. At the time of the April 13 arrest, police said Surat hit an officer multiple times and grabbed an officer by the throat after they responded to a fight at a bar and detained her boyfriend.

She is charged with third-degree assault and obstructing a police officer, both misdemeanors.

The department says it won't release body camera footage of the arrest until after the prosecution is complete.
