A World War II veteran needs help looking for his “angel.”

Rene Duhon said he was standing in the checkout line at an Albertsons grocery store in Lafayette, La., when a mystery woman standing behind him paid his bill.

"I was flabbergasted. I didn't know what to think" Duhon told KLAF, adding that he thanked the woman and drove home.

But the cashier said the woman paid for the groceries because her father served in World War II as well. Duhon usually wears his veteran hat around.

"All I want her to know is that I appreciated it very, very much and I want her to know she is an angel," Duhon told KLAF.

Duhon is looking to meet the woman in person and the station is urging those who may know her to reach out.
