A St. Paul, Minnesota, woman’s entire life savings, valued at more than $200,000, were stolen from her home on Tuesday.
A St. Paul police spokesperson said the burglary took place sometime between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., while the occupants of the house, a 57-year-old woman and her 32-year-old daughter, were at work.
A diamond ring valued at $36,000 and 100 one-ounce gold bars worth approximately $120,000 were taken along with $60,000 cash. The mother told police the items were her entire life savings, and she was counting on them for her retirement, Linders said.
The incident is under investigation.
