A Connecticut inmate convicted in the killings of two women has been charged in the deaths of two more women in Hartford.

The Office of the Chief State's Attorney says 56-year-old Robert White, formerly of Hartford, was arraigned Monday in Hartford.

White is serving a 50-year prison sentence for murder in the 2013 death of Sawarie Krichindath. In 1980, he was convicted of manslaughter in the beating death of Betty Robertson.

Now, White is charged with murder in the killings of Shiraleen Crawford in 1997 and Sonia Rivera in 2012.

It's unclear if White has a lawyer.

Authorities say White is a registered sex offender with a "pattern of violence against women."
