Orlando tourism may be softening.

Hotel occupancy was down 2.5 percent for the year through July. The number of hotel rooms sold dropped almost 2 percent from the previous year.

Brazil's recession and political turmoil and Canada's weak Canadian are factors too. Brazilian visitors decreased 25 percent. Visitors from Canada are up only 1 or 2 percent.

Higher prices at Disney World have lowered attendance at some theme parks. There are also concerns that tourists may become spooked by Zika cases elsewhere in Florida.

Orlando has also weathered a series of tragedies: the Pulse nightclub massacre; a toddler killed by an alligator; a former singer from "The Voice" slain, and a Turkish tourist murdered outside his hotel. An official, though, says those awful events don't appear to have impacted tourism.
