West Virginia State Police say a suspect who fired at officers has been fatally shot.
State Police spokesman Lt. Michael Baylous tells media outlets that at least one trooper had accompanied an officer from another agency serving a petition for a mental health evaluation in Roane County, about 55 miles northeast of Charleston, when the suspect fired at officers Tuesday.
Baylous says officers returned fire, killing the suspect. No officers were injured.
Further details were unavailable, and Baylous didn't immediately return a message from The Associated Press.
