WASHINGTON – Police say they have made two more arrests in a shooting that wounded a man near the Verizon Center arena in the nation's capital.
District of Columbia police said 20-year-old Lafayette Booker of Washington, D.C., and a 17-year-old boy from Capitol Heights, Maryland, were arrested Tuesday. A police statement says both were charged with assault with intent to rob.
A 15-year-old boy was previously arrested and charged with assault with intent to kill.
The shooting occurred Aug 12 in a McDonald's fast food outlet. The victim survived.
Online court records show Booker was charged in June with theft and assault on a police officer and was in court this week after being charged with failure to appear. His attorney in that case didn't immediately return a message.
