A Southern California college has canceled plans to create a play about the San Bernardino terrorist shooting that killed 14 people after relatives of some victims complained.

The San Bernardino Sun (http://bit.ly/2aNTlnC) reports Thursday that the play, "SB Strong," was supposed to be performed this fall at San Bernardino Valley College.

But objections were raised by some relatives of those killed or wounded in the Dec. 2 attack at a local social services building.

Mark Sandefur, the father of Daniel Kaufman, wrote to college officials Thursday saying he was "aghast" at the suggestion that the school would want to profit from his son's death. He said the idea was in "incredibly bad taste."

In an open letter Thursday, college President Diana Z. Rodriguez announced the cancellation and apologized for any pain the idea may have caused.
