A man holding a baby was shot and killed late Wednesday when two armed men wearing masks fired shots from the front door of a north Florida home, police said.
The baby girl was shot in the arm and another man in the home was also shot, Gainesville police spokesman Ben Tobias said in a news release. Both were being treated at a Gainesville hospital. The injuries aren't considered life-threatening.
The man who died was shot in the torso, The Gainesville Sun reported. Police were first notified of the incident at 11:39 p.m.
The suspects, who entered the home and fired the shots near the front door, left before police arrived, Tobias said.
Investigators were trying to determine the identities of the men, but said they don't believe the gunmen were still in the area.
The names of the victims haven't been released.
