JACKSON, Miss. – Mississippi authorities say they have captured the second of two murder suspects who had previously escaped from a detention center in Raymond.
Authorities on Friday night said 29-year-old Malcolm Jamal Landfair was apprehended at an undisclosed location, and is being returned to jail.
Hinds County Sheriff Victor Mason tells WAPT-TV (http://bit.ly/28VNI8C) that Landfair and 19-year-old Gerome Moore escaped early Thursday morning through a hole they made in the wall of a jail cell at the detention center in Raymond.
Moore was captured Thursday afternoon. He is charged in the 2015 carjacking and murder of 69-year-old Carolyn Temple in Belhaven.
Landfair was arrested in December 2015 in connection with a shooting at Red Apple Inn Apartments that killed Christopher Catchings.
Both men are expected to face escape charges.
