Authorities say two sheriff's deputies in northeast Louisiana were shot and wounded while serving a felony warrant.

Glenn Springfield, the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office public information officer, said in an email that a news conference is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday to discuss the shooting.

Ouachita Parish Chief Deputy Mac Mashaw said in a brief news release that the shooting happened just after 6 a.m.

The deputies are being treated at a Monroe hospital. Their conditions are unknown.

Thursday morning's shooting is the second involving deputies in Louisiana in as many days. On Wednesday, a sheriff's deputy across the state in Jefferson Parish was shot and killed by a 19-year-old suspect.
