Several pedestrians were injured in a hit-and-run accident in Las Vegas, authorities said Saturday night.

One person had been reported dead in the accident, but Metro police confirmed there hadn’t been any fatalities in the incident. Police said five people, including three children, were injured in the accident.

Police said the crash happened at an intersection around 7 p.m. Officers told News 3 Las Vegas that multiple people have suffered life-threatening injuries. UMC Trauma told the station that two children are in critical condition.

Police said the driver had initially left the scene of the accident, but is now in custody.

One witness told News 3 Las Vegas that a car went through the intersection at a high-rate of speed and hit several cars before running into a group of pedestrians.

The driver hasn’t been identified.
