A Canadian real estate tycoon's son who is charged with torturing and killing his girlfriend explored the darkest side of evil in one his many creative endeavors.

Los Angeles prosecutors charged Blake Leibel with murder Tuesday in the death of Iana Kasian.

Prosecutors say Kasian's body was found last week in the couple's West Hollywood apartment with all her blood drained.

Leibel worked as a writer and director and created a graphic novel that follows a mad doctor's attempt to isolate the root of evil and cure it in a remorseless serial killer.

The story opens with the killer facing execution, a fate Leibel could face if convicted.

Leibel's father earned a fortune building homes in the Toronto area and was on the Canadian Olympic sailing team in 1976.
