Wife, children accused of murder in man's malnutrition death

The wife and three adult children of an Ohio man who died of organ failure caused by malnutrition and bed sores have been charged with murder.

Wife Debora Brichacek (brik-AY'-sik), Wendy Brichacek, Debbi Brichacek and Brian Brichacek were indicted by a grand jury in Cleveland this week. They're also charged with involuntary manslaughter, kidnapping and failing to provide for a functionally impaired person.

Sixty-three-year-old Richard Brichacek weighed 93 pounds when he died at his Euclid home in December. A medical examiner ruled his death a homicide.

Prosecutors say he suffered from a neurological disorder and didn't receive adequate nutrition or medical care for more than a year before his death.

Records don't indicate if the Brichaceks have attorneys. A home phone number for them repeatedly rang busy Friday.
