A Pittsylvania County sheriff's deputy has been shot and wounded near Keeling, Virginia.
News outlets that the deputy was shot after responding to a domestic-related call Tuesday night.
Sheriff's office spokesman Devin Taylor says the deputy suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was treated at a hospital.
Authorities arrested the suspect, 37-year-old Brian Cundiff, after a standoff in which Cundiff had barricaded himself in a home. Officials say Cundiff surrendered himself to authorities early Wednesday morning.
He was booked at the Pittsylvania County Jail. It's unclear if he has an attorney.
Officials reopened a roadway that was blocked off as they investigated the situation.
