A woman in North Carolina was arrested Tuesday night after police said she let her 15-year-old son drive her car at 102 mph as she sat in the back seat, ABC11.com reported.

The teen had been drinking, but was not legally drunk, the station reported, citing the arrest warrant. The mother, identified as 42-year-old Sheryl Tyndall Powell, faces charges including marijuana possession and child abuse.

Police reportedly said they found an open malt beverage, Four Loko, and marijuana in her purse. They said three other juveniles were in the back seat.

Police reportedly stopped her car in Wake Forest just before 11 p.m. on Tuesday night. The speed limit on the road is 55 mph. She has been held on $10,000 bail.

It's unclear whether the teen had a learner's permit. Drivers in North Carolina can apply for the permit at age 15.
