DOVER, Del. – A cybersecurity advisory council formed by Gov. Jack Markell has begun its business by holding what officials called an "emergency" executive session.
The chairman of the panel called the secret session at its inaugural meeting Wednesday so members could hear an FBI cyberthreat briefing.
The agenda for the public meeting said FBI agent Daniel Gray was going to give an unclassified threat briefing.
But Gray balked when an Associated Press reporter refused his demand that he not be quoted. Gray acknowledged, however, that he was not going to divulge any classified information.
James Collins, the state's chief information officer and head of the council, then said the panel would meet in executive session, even though Delaware's Freedom of Information Act requires that such closed-door meetings be noticed ahead of time.
