ORANGE, N.J. – Family members say a man and his two young sons have died in a New Jersey house fire.
Iminah May tells The Associated Press that her uncle and his 2- and 8-year-old sons died in the Monday morning blaze in Orange. She says the boys' mother is badly burned.
Essex County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas Fennelly tells NJ.com that the fire killed at least one person, but authorities are still investigating.
The Essex County coroner's office referred calls to the state attorney general's office, which referred calls back to the county prosecutor's office.
May says about 10 people lived inside the home. Another family member, Quadirah May, says she was in the house when the fire erupted at around 5 a.m., and she ran out with two of her children.
