California police were asking for the public's help Friday in finding a missing Air Force veteran and father of three who disappeared under suspicious circumstances nearly one week ago.
Michael David Vanzandt, 36, of Lancaster, Calif., was last seen by friends Saturday night at the Pier Plaza area of Hermosa Beach, according to authorities.

The Hermosa Beach Police Department said Vanzandt was waiting outside the American Junkie gastro pub with friends at around 10:15 p.m. when he decided to leave the line and head to a nearby liquor store.
Vanzandt was last spotted walking toward Roberts Liquor, and his friends, "lost contact with his cell phone shortly after he was last seen," police said in a press release.
Vanzandt and friends had watched an Ultimate Fighting Championship fight earlier that evening and rented a hotel room in the area, but Vanzandt never returned, ABC7 reported.
The man's brother, Tyler Vanzandt, said his brother's friends called his phone in vain more than 20 times. He was reported missing on Sunday.
Vanzandt works at Edwards Air Force Base and is an avid swimmer and scuba diver. His brother told ABC7 that he is “somebody that does like to take swims at night, you know, after he’s been drinking."
"I’ve been out with him numerous times, and certainly that’s a concern,” Tyler Vanzandt said.
According to the website MissingVeterans.com, Vanzandt failed to report for work on Monday, and his vehicle and belongings were found untouched at the Quality Inn where he and his friends were staying.
The website also reported that a security camera captured footage of Vanzandt walking away from the pier at approximately 11 p.m. Saturday.
While police say there is no evidence of foul play, Vanzandt's wife claims is it highly unlike the Air Force veteran to disappear without a trace.
Vanzandt and his wife, Krishain Vanzandt, are going through a divorce, but the woman told ABC7 he would never leave his children behind.
"They're his life. He would never just up and leave them," she told the station. "This is absolutely not like him."
Vanzandt, who has blonde hair and blue eyes, is 6-foot and weighs approximately 190 pounds. Vanzandt has at least three tattoos -- on his left shoulder, back and left calf, according to police. He was last seen wearing Michael was last seen wearing a dark gray sweater, a white undershirt, jeans and shoes/boots.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to called the Hermosa Police Department at (310) 318-0360.
