A Florida man accused of attacking his grandparents was arrested by Indian River County deputies on Sunday.
Authorities said 36-year-old Scott Horn tried to strangle his grandparents and beat them with his fists, according to FOX35. Horn’s grandmother had six broken ribs and a broken sternum. His grandfather’s condition is unclear.
Police were initially called to the grandparents’ Vero Beach home around 2:45 a.m. to investigate a disturbance. They located Horn about six hours later.
Horn had been homeless and fled his grandparents’ house on foot, officials told WPTV. Police have yet to publicly identify a motive.
“His actions this morning show that he is a dangerous individual,” Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar said.
