Police say an intruder at a Wisconsin high school wanted to get to the top of the school's tower because he thought he was a knight in a castle.

Manitowoc Police Capt. Larry Zimney says the 58-year-old man admitted to using marijuana and alcohol before the incident Thursday morning, which prompted a brief lockdown at Lincoln High School. He says the unarmed man was hallucinating.

A student spotted the man at 6:45 a.m. Two custodians soon confronted him. Zimney says the intruder told them he had to leave and then lunged at both of them, hitting one custodian in the lip. But they held him until police arrived. He's being held pending battery and other charges.

Manitowoc schools superintendent Mark Holzman says students were held in the auditorium and cafeteria while police checked the building.
