A report released by police in Louisiana into a theater shooting last summer that killed two people describes the various encounters people had with the shooter.

Some parts of the 589 pages of documents released Wednesday were redacted but they still provide a revealing look at the initial police response to the July shooting.

Police say John Russell Houser stood up during a July 23, 2015 screening of "Trainwreck" and opened fire, killing two people and wounded nine others before fatally shooting himself.

One person described selling a "long, light brunette wig" to a "rude man" on July 22, the day before the shooting.

The person later realized the man was the shooter.

Another unidentified woman described to state troopers how she had met a man who identified himself as John Houser at a church on July 13.

She said he appeared to have been homeless for some time.
