Police say an Uber driver accused of sexually assaulting a woman and burglarizing her home after giving her a ride in northeast Georgia has been arrested.

Athens-Clarke County police told multiple news outlets Friday that 49-year-old John Kemens was arrested in the December incident involving a 27-year-old woman. Kemens was arrested Wednesday and charged with aggravated sodomy with force and first degree burglary.

Police say Kemens picked up the woman from an Athens restaurant about 11:30 p.m. and gave her a ride home, where he assaulted her.

Police say they tracked down Kemens with the help of the victim and Uber, the ride-sharing service.
