The Citadel has completed its initial investigation into cadets appearing in photos with pillowcases on their heads similar to Ku Klux Klan garb.

The military college released a statement Wednesday saying that the eight cadets involved have given statements and are temporarily suspended.

They will return for classes next month and will have administrative hearings at the end of which disciplinary recommendations will be made to the college president.

Civil rights activist the Rev. Sharpton planned to meet Wednesday with the school's president, retired Air Force Lt. Gen. John Rosa.

The college says an investigation indicated the cadets were taking part in a "Ghosts of Christmas Past" skit, dressed in white shirts and pants with pillowcases on their heads. The photos surfaced on social media sites last week.
