Deputies: 2 dead in apparent murder-suicide at Florida Hospital in Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. – An apparent murder-suicide on Monday morning left two people dead at Florida Hospital in Tampa, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

Alonna Tedesco, 41, was shot in a third-floor hospital room around 7 a.m. before the shooter, who has not been identified, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Donna Lusczynski said.

Tedesco was immediately taken to the emergency room, where she later died. Officials said Tedesco had been visiting someone at the hospital.

The sheriff's department says the hospital is not on lockdown.

No further details about the shooting have been released.
