The wife of a man charged with killing a family at an East Texas campsite had described him as being violent in a court record.

Catrina Hudson wrote in an affidavit when seeking a protective order in 2006 that William Hudson had punched her and threatened to kill her. She stated "his temper and violence are getting worse and worse."

She was the mother of a newborn at the time and was granted a temporary restraining order on the same day she filed for divorce in November 2006. The divorce petition was dropped about a month later, though. It's unclear whether they're currently married.

William Hudson is charged with capital murder for the six killings last weekend in Anderson County.

Attempts to reach Catrina Hudson for comment have been unsuccessful.
