Several candidates will be appearing at the No Lables conference today including Trump, Kasich, Christie, and Sanders. We’ll be watching.

New CBS News poll out has more good news for Donald Trump and Ben Carson. Trump gets 27%, Carson 21%. Ted Cruz gets 9%. Marco Rubio gets 8% and Carly Fiorina ties one time front-runner Jeb Bush with 6%.

They also polled the Democrats before tomorrow’s first Dem debate. Hillary Clinton retains a nearly 20 point lead over Bernie Sanders. Her lead has narrowed since August, but she hasn’t lost any additional ground. Joe Biden gets third with 16%. We’re still awaiting a decision from the Vice President on whether or not he’ll get into the race.

President Obama did a two part interview with 60 Minutes last night.. making news on several fronts.

The President called Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server a “mistake,” but he also said it didn’t hurt national security, and  the Republicans are using the Benghazi investigation to try to hurt Clinton politically.

The President also dismissed critics who say he hasn’t been tough enough on Vladimir Putin, ''If you think that running your economy into the ground and having to send troops in, in order to prop up your only ally, is leadership, then we've got a different definition of leadership.” He also said,   ''The fact that they had to do this is not an indication of strength.''

Iran says Washington Post reporter Jason Rezaian has been convicted. He’s been accused of spying inside Iran. Rezaian has been held by the Iranians for longer than the U.S. embassy personnel were held in 1979. He is Tehran bureau chief for the Washington Post, and reportedly faces up to 20 years in prison. Details remain sketchy.

A 31 year old police officer was shot in killed in Memphis overnight. A suspect is in custody. The officer leaves behind a fiancée who is four months pregnant.
