Police officer in Georgia shot and wounded at gas station; 1 of 2 suspects in custody

TUCKER, Ga. – Authorities say a police officer has been shot and wounded at a gas station in suburban Atlanta.

DeKalb County Police Capt. Stephen Fore says the officer was shot shortly before 4 p.m. Friday on Lawrenceville Hwy. Fore says one person was taken into custody and officers are searching for a second suspect.

Fore says the officer was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. The officer's name has not been released.

WSB-TV reports that the officer is in critical condition.

Police are still investigating the incident.
