Northern California authorities have arrested a suspect in the robbery of news crews broadcasting live from San Francisco's picturesque waterfront.

KTVU reported Wednesday (http://tinyurl.com/nvopmkx) that San Francisco Police arrested 23-year-old Michael Jones, who appeared in court Wednesday. Police say Jones is one of three men who stole two television cameras and two tripods while news crews reported on a murder from a popular pedestrian pier. One cameraman was pistol-whipped, but he didn't need medical attention during the July 2 accident.

Jones pleaded not guilty to charges of robbery and assault. Police are still searching for the two other suspects. The stolen equipment was not recovered.

At least a dozen news crews have been robbed over the last four years in the San Francisco Bay Area.
