A New York woman has been charged along with her son of kidnapping his former girlfriend and their baby and holding them captive for five days.

Nassau County police say the kidnapping happened July 20 in Rockville Centre.

They say the 20-year-old victim was lured to the home by a text from 51-year-old Yolanda Gilreath, saying she wanted to see the 11-month-old boy.

Gilreath's 20-year-old son, Malachi Blaylock, is the baby's father.

Police say when the victim arrived, Blaylock grabbed the child and forced the woman into a bedroom. They say he beat her, stabbed her with scissors and threatened her with a gun.

Blaylock and Gilreath were arrested Monday on charges including kidnapping and unlawful imprisonment.

It wasn't clear if they had attorneys to comment on the charges.
