The New York Police Department says a man sought in attacks on four Asian women has been found dead of an apparent suicide.
Police say they found 25-year-old Tyrelle Shaw dead in a Manhattan elevator shaft Monday. A suicide note was recovered. The medical examiner will determine an official cause of death.
Shaw was sought after four women were struck in the face with a bag containing a hard object.
The attacks started June 10 when a 35-year-old woman was attacked on a street after she ignored him.
Later that day, a 29-year-old woman was accosted as she walked down Park Avenue.
Two days later, a 34-year-old woman was struck in the forehead as she walked on a street.
The fourth assault occurred June 15.
