An ex-convict who pleaded no contest to killing two women last fall in western Michigan is returning to court for his sentence.

Leon Means was charged in the deaths of 63-year-old Anna Lawson and 62-year-old Judy Bushman. Their bodies were found at their homes, just blocks apart, in Muskegon Heights, 40 miles northwest of Grand Rapids.

Means is returning to court on Monday, about a month after pleading no contest.

He's also accused of killing his estranged wife and her mother after escaping from prison in 1989. The case is on hold. Muskegon Heights police say Means confessed to all four homicides.
