NYPD looking for suspect in 3 assaults on Asian women; all hit with weighted bag

NEW YORK – New York City police are looking for a suspect in connection with three assaults on Asian women who were each hit with weighted plastic bags.

Police say a 35-year-old Asian woman was on Grand Street on the afternoon of June 10 when she was hit in the face by a man who had initially tried to strike up a conversation. Hours later, a 29-year-old Asian woman was at Park Avenue near 30th Street when she was hit in the face by a man.

Two days later, on June 12, a 34-year-old Asian woman was hit in the forehead while walking on Second Avenue and 60th Street, police say.

All three women were treated at a hospital and released.
