Testimony at Jesse Matthew trial turns from victim's emotional account to DNA evidence

After jurors heard a woman's wrenching account of being attacked, testimony at Jesse Matthew's attempted murder trial now turns to DNA evidence that prosecutors say will prove Matthew was the man who attacked her.

Prosecutors have indicated that DNA evidence will be a big part of their case against the 33-year-old Matthew. The DNA link emerged after Matthew was identified as a suspect in the high-profile disappearance and death last year in Albemarle County of University of Virginia student Hannah Graham.

In the Fairfax trial, which began Monday, Matthew is charged with attempted capital murder, abduction and sexual assault.

The victim in that case gave an emotional detailed account of the September 2005 attack, but she never explicitly identified Matthew as her attacker.
