An Ohio National Guardsman accused of sexually abusing three adopted daughters and a stepdaughter at their home has been convicted.

Union County jurors reached the verdict Friday evening.

The guardsman was convicted of 15 of the 23 counts against him, including rape and sexual battery. He was accused of abusing girls who were under age 13.

Prosecutors also allege he and his wife abruptly sent a fourth girl out of state in July 2012 and threatened the remaining children in the family with a similar fate to keep them from talking about what they knew.

The 42-year-old Marysville man testified in his own defense. His wife testified she never saw signs of such abuse.

The Associated Press isn't naming the couple to protect the children's identities.
