A teenage girl at the center of an international custody case won't be sent to the United States until Mexican authorities confirm her identity through DNA testing.

The search for 13-year-old Alondra Diaz Garcia attracted wide attention last month after a Mexican court erroneously sent another girl named Alondra to Texas in a case of mistaken identity.

That girl, 14-year-old Alondra Luna, was returned to Mexico after DNA testing confirmed she is not related to Dorotea Garcia. The Houston, Texas, woman has been searching for her daughter since 2007, when the girl allegedly was taken into Mexico by her father.

Cinthia Elodia Mercado, the judge who ordered the wrong girl into Garcia's custody last month, said she would wait this time for DNA test results expected Friday.
