A man convicted of strangling a pharmacist and the pharmacist's girlfriend in northeast Pennsylvania has been ordered to pay $140,000 to partially cover case costs.

Prosecutors said Wednesday it's not likely 41-year-old Hugo Selenski will pay back the full amount.

He makes just $1 per hour for prison work and has about $600 in his account.

A judge set the restitution amount after Selenski challenged an initial demand to pay more than $198,000.

Selenski is serving life in prison after his conviction in February in the 2002 deaths of Michael Kerkowski and Tammy Fassett.

Their bodies were among at least five sets of remains found in Selenski's yard north of Wilkes-Barre in 2003.

Selenski's case cost more than $750,000, including $517,351 for his defense and $199,577 for the prosecution.
