INKSTER, Mich. – A judge has ordered police in suburban Detroit to release more dash cam video of the arrest of a black driver who was pulled over by two white officers, thrown to the ground and repeatedly punched in the head by one officer.
Fifty-seven-year-old Floyd Dent was arrested in January in Inkster. Police say he refused to stop, resisted them and had cocaine in the car.
Dent says he was trying to protect himself. He says police planted the cocaine.
On Wednesday, Wayne County Circuit Judge David Groner said Dent's lawyers could receive 12 more minutes of police dash cam video. Defense lawyer Nick Bennett says he received only highly edited video earlier.
