Massachusetts authorities say one person is under arrest after a duffel bag containing human remains was found in Cambridge near Kendall Square.

Police say the duffel bag was discovered Saturday morning near a building used by biotechnology company Biogen Inc. and a block from a police station. Additional remains were discovered later in the day inside an apartment building across the street after authorities began a homicide investigation.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan says all of the remains are believed to belong to one victim. She announced that a suspect was arrested but provided no details. The name of the victim wasn't released.

Ryan says the suspect faces charges of being an accessory after the crime of assault and battery and improper disposal of human remains. The suspect is due to be arraigned Monday.
