Police in central California say a man and a woman in a romantic relationship are dead after a shooting at a medical office building in downtown Fresno.

Fresno police Lt. Joe Gomez confirmed the shooting Tuesday and said no other injuries have been reported. It wasn't immediately clear if authorities consider it a murder-suicide, but police are not searching for any suspects.

Gomez says officers surrounded the building and ordered people to evacuate. A short search of the building led police to the bodies.

Police released scant details about the shooting but plan to release more details at a news conference Tuesday afternoon.
