INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis police say a 41-year-old woman and her son were among the four people found fatally shot in a house.
Police announced Wednesday that the victims included Terri Betties of Indianapolis and her son, 18-year-old Davon Whitlock. Also killed in the shootings were 32-year-old Tiara Turner and 48-year-old Sherry Taylor, also of Indianapolis.
A woman returning to her near northwest side home Tuesday morning found the bodies. Police believe the killings likely occurred earlier in the day.
Police spokesman Officer Christopher Wilburn says each of the victims was shot multiple times. He also says the house showed signs of forced entry and had apparently been ransacked.
Neighbors say the area has been plagued in recent years by burglaries, periodic shootings and drug-related crime.
