An Ohio policewoman can be heard on a 911 call screaming and crying as she tells the dispatcher that she shot her ex-boyfriend after he broke into her suburban Akron home and began beating her.
Thirty-year-old Kent Officer Sarah Berkey was placed on administrative leave after the fatal shooting Thursday of 29-year-old Adam Jovicic of Munroe Falls. A medical examiner says Jovicic was shot twice in the abdomen.
A recording of the seven-minute call was obtained by the Northeast Ohio Media Group (http://bit.ly/1MNUXKt ) and other outlets.
A woman identified in a police report as Berkey tells the 911 dispatcher: "He broke in and he was beating me up, and I shot him." Officers were in her driveway when the shots were fired; she can be heard later talking to them.
