A man who led authorities on a nationwide manhunt after being charged in the slayings of an elderly Ohio couple is being held on a $5 million bond.

Bond for Robert Clark was set during a hearing Tuesday in Coshocton. Clark didn't have an attorney and didn't say much.

A prosecutor says Clark has made incriminating statements about the slayings.

Clark and another man have been charged with murder in the deaths of 88-year-old Doyle Chumney and 79-year-old Lillian Chumney.

The Chumneys were from Strasburg, a village of about 3,000 residents. Their remains were found in their badly burned car on Jan. 22, a day after they were reported missing.

Clark and two companions were arrested in Arizona on Feb. 5 after a string of armed robberies in three states.
